Rocky Mountain National Park Engagement | Estes Park, CO | Abby + Brett

When the leaves turn golden in the Rockies, there’s no better place for an engagement session than Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park, CO. Abby and Brett’s fall session was everything we love as photographers—natural, playful, romantic, and surrounded by jaw-dropping scenery.

The aspens were at peak color, bursting in brilliant yellows that glowed in the warm afternoon light. The lake itself was glassy and calm, perfectly mirroring the surrounding mountain peaks as the sun began its slow descent. The entire landscape felt like a painting—and Abby and Brett brought it all to life.

We spent the evening hiking through the woods, climbing over fallen trees, and laughing with them as they let their guard down and truly had fun together. These are the moments we live for. When couples forget the camera is even there and just enjoy the time together. Abby and Brett’s true personalities shined throughout the session, and it quickly became one of our all-time favorites to photograph.

As the golden sun dipped behind the mountains, we ended the evening at the lake’s edge. Despite the crisp chill in the air, Abby and Brett stepped into the water with no hesitation. They splashed, laughed, and embraced the moment completely, giving us some of the most playful and joy-filled images of the whole shoot.

There’s something magical about mountain engagement sessions in the fall. Especially when the couple is as adventurous and genuine as these two. We couldn’t have asked for a better setting or a better duo.

We can’t wait to meet back up with Abby and Brett this fall. Their wedding in the Hamptons in New York is going to be beautiful!
