In the vast expanse of White Sands National Park near Las Cruces, New Mexico, Savannah and Austin, accompanied by their mothers, started on their elopement journey. Flying in from Florida, they were all greeted by the endless sea of white sand dunes and distant mountains. We were all in awe of the beautiful, other worldly, looking scenery. Together, they had constructed an altar before, and brought it with them to set up for their ceremony. We scouted out the perfect location and then they put it together before they got into their wedding attire on the dunes!
The horizon stretched endlessly, a pictureque backdrop for their nuptials. Savannah’s wedding dress flowing gracefully as she walks, anticipation building with each step. As the sun emerged from behind the clouds, they shared their first look, and it was such a special moment. Then they walked hand in hand up to the altar that they built together. Their vows made them both laugh and cry as they held hands. After they kissed, they celebrated with champagne pops and hugs from their moms. We spent the last little bit of light with them snuggling close because to say it was a chilly evening was an understatement. By the end of the night we were all ready to bundle up!
Every time we find ourselves in White Sands National Park, either just for fun or for an elopement, we are always blown away. The views are unlike any other National Park. The sand seemingly goes on forever and the sunsets are always spectacular. We also love seeing the deep blue mountains off in the distance. If you are looking for a unique elopement location, that isn’t as touristy as some other National Parks, this one is for you!
