We drove out of Yosemite National Park after several days of relaxation with friends, excited to see the beauty that is Lake Tahoe. It was great to have such an amazing place to look forward to having left Yosemite with a sense of sadness many times before. We were headed to photograph Joanne and Chris at Valhalla Tahoe for their incredible wedding nestled in the trees of South Lake Tahoe.
Valhalla is a vast venue space along the lake and features a main lodge that was built in 1924. With original hardwood floors, and all the features of a classic cabin, it is an incredible place for a wedding! Also, including French Doors opening onto a massive wrap around porch. Seriously, breathtaking. Then the grand lawn behind the cabin provides guests with an intimate setting for cocktail hour and lawn games. And of course absolutely stunning photos with views of the gigantic trees. The towering pines above us cast long shadows as the sun set over the mountains and lake. With Valhalla so close to Lake Tahoe, we were able to walk down with the wedding party to the shore. The perfect photo opportunity by the boathouse on the shore.
Wearing traditional Scottish Kilts, Chris and his groomsmen were able to match perfectly with details throughout the day. This style fit seamlessly with the look of Valhalla and their wedding day.
We had so much fun with these two all day long that we decided to take the cameras out to the afterparty! To the casinos we went where we may or may not have taken way too many tequila shots and gambled until 3am.
Hell of day it was.
As always, Joanne and Chris, we can’t thank you enough for allowing us to see your true love. It was incredible to watch how people celebrated you! You made us feel like a part of your families and inner circle of friends. We are forever grateful for that!
