We were so thrilled when Jocelyn and Eric contacted us to capture their wedding day at The Camellia Gardens! They now live out west but have family and friends all over the states. Jocelyn is a traveling nurse and Eric is in the marines so to say they both have crazy schedules is an understatement. They decided on North Carolina for their wedding not only because of the central location but they both attended Queens University in Charlotte! It was the perfect location for their day.

When we arrived everyone was getting ready and even with the threat of afternoon thunderstorms everyone was pretty laid back. Jocelyn wore her grandmothers ring and a perfect outdoor wedding dress with pockets (because who does’t love pockets?) and Eric wore his dressed blues. They both exchanged gifts and Eric surprised Jocelyn with tickets to Disneyland! In our opinion the perfect wedding day gift! haha! They later joked during their first look about who wrote more in their cards to each other. Make sure you listen close on their wedding day video it’s adorable!

They say it’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day. At the alter these two were literally showered with luck. As they kissed a quick, summer thunderstorm blew in! It was the perfect timing for a little rain. All of the guest headed in to eat and watch the last bits of rain drop from the sky and then everyone piled out onto the outdoor dance floor for some funny speeches and photo opts. The sun even popped out for a little bit and then it was onto the reception festivities!
