We have captured tons of church weddings but this Duke Chapel wedding was unreal! The chapel is gigantic and sits in the middle of Duke Universities campus. It’s architecture looks almost medieval and the inspiration for its’ design is English Gothic. The intricate detail and archways are simply breathtaking. The stone they used to construct it comes from the Duke Quarry nearby. Inside is just as beautiful. With cathedral ceilings and a huge stained window in the back, over the alter, it’s one of the most gorgeous churches we’ve ever seen.
After the ceremony, Stephanie and Patrick, held their reception at the American Tobacco Campus at Bay 7. Bay 7 is an old industrial building with an urban chic vibe that we love. It’s completely brick inside with a wrap around second story that allows you to look down in on the dancing and reception from above. It is such a romantic set up and we love all all the aesthetics. Stephanie and Patrick had simply decor with lanterns to light up the tables. This reception venue is perfect by itself so the simplicity of their table decor was perfect.
Capturing Stephanie and Patricks Duke Chapel wedding was a dream. The day went off without a hitch and we loved photographing in the Duke Chapel for the first time.
