Gabrielle & Joey: A Timelessly Romantic Sunset Engagement on the Dock in North Carolina

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending to Gabby and Joey’s engagement session in North Carolina. After capturing the playful, romantic moments in the pines, we made our way down to a quiet dock by the water — and if we thought the first part of their session was magical, this second half was even more romantic!

With the geese casually hanging out nearby and the sun dipping below the trees, Gabby and Joey sipped Champagne, savoring the peacefulness of the moment. Gabby had told us before the session that she wanted it to feel “timelessly romantic, like a movie,” and she also mentioned her mom wanted a picture of her twirling in a specific dress on the dock. Well, we were more than happy to make that vision come to life!

Gabby wore a stunning long white, strappy maxi dress with long fringes along the bottom — it looked absolutely gorgeous as she spun and twirled, her dress flowing with every movement. We had so much fun capturing the movement and energy of her dress with some dreamy, blurry motion shots.

The entire session was pure perfection, and we loved that Gabby came with such a clear idea of what she wanted while allowing us to bring our vision to the photos. It was an unforgettable evening, and we can’t wait to see these two again at their wedding in Charleston at Middleton Place!
