Last year when we photographed Bailey and Mark’s wedding at Bedell Cellars we stayed at a little boutique hotel in Greenport, The Gallery, on the North Fork of Long Island. (More from our stay HERE.) The owner told us about this awesome, rocky beach nearby. When we explored it we instantly fell in love. We knew one day we would bring a couple here for photos. So fast forward a year later and we are back for another wedding at Bedell Cellars and for Nicola and Christina’s engagement session on this breathtaking beach.
We met them at sunrise and led them down the steep steps down onto the beach. As your are climbing down the stairs you look back up at the cliffs that jut out. When you get to the beach, it is not exactly like other beaches because there isn’t fine sand. This beach is made up of tiny pebbles and also very large boulders that dot the shoreline. This is our second engagement session on a beach on Long Island recently. It’s amazing how much they differ.
These two were up for a little adventure. So they didn’t mind climbing up and over the rocks and laying down on them for views from above. They even kicked and splashed in the freezing cold water! We adore this marvelous spot and are so happy we got to share it with these two!
This very first photo is one of our favorites to date. The contrast in the deep blue ocean water and the white sands it awesome. Also, all the different shapes and sizes of the boulders out in the water with Nicola and Christian laying in the middle was epic!
The beach is made up of tons of these tiny stones. You definitely need shoes while walking down this beach. Haha!
