Mapleside Farms Wedding | Cleveland, OH | Ellen + Chris

Going into Ellen and Chris’ Ohio wedding day we knew it would be blast! They are both Ohio University Alums like Andrea and they both have contagious personalities! Their wedding was at this beautiful barn called Mapleside Farms near Cleveland, OH that overlooks a little valley. Ohio weddings are always fun for us too because we get to spend time with Andrea’s friends and family from home.

We had a wedding in North Carolina the previous day where it was really hot. Haha! So we had to make a pit stop at Target to buy some warmer clothes. Brrrr!

Then we arrived where the girls were getting ready and it was already a lively bunch. We walked into music and laughter coming from all over the hotel room. We worked our magic with the backdrop of the hotel rooms where the girls got ready. Ellen had expressed concern about how the hotel would look in photos, but we were able to do some photography tricks to make everything look great! The girls then headed from the hotel to the venue where Ellen planned to get into her dress. When we got there Ellen had messed up her hair a little bit on the ride and no one had a brush or comb to smooth it out. If there was ever a time to feel like a Disney princess this was it. Just like Ariel using her “Dinglehopper” we grabbed a fork and Andrea smoothed it out. haha! Wedding days always require you to think on your feet and sometimes it tends to add some comic relief!

It was cloudy and overcast throughout the day. But during the reception Ellen’s father gave a touching toast to her that brought everyone to tears. As he spoke about Ellen’s late mother, the sun immediately began to peek under the clouds and shine through the windows of the venue with a warm orange glow. We stepped outside after he was finished to catch the most epic, color filled, sunset. We definitely think it was Ellen’s mother’s way of showing her she was there!

After the sun set, the party started, and they danced the night away! Even Ellen’s adorable grandma got out on the dance floor! As the wedding day came to an end they had a Swenson’s Burger Food Truck where we tried our first Galley Boy Burger!
