Last April, we spent a week in Lake Tahoe photographing a wedding in South Lake Tahoe and a few engagement sessions all around the area. It was breathtaking and one of our all time favorite trips to date!
About the only thing that gets us up early these days is the opportunity to do a session at sunrise. We are both night owls naturally, so we don’t see too many sunrises. Haha. Danielle and Jake were super pumped for their session and were even down to split their session up into two different times. We did one during golden hour and sunset around the lake near Zephyr Cove and then the next morning we watched the sun rise over Emerald Bay.
For their sunset session, we were able to hike and climb around on the massive boulders lining the lakefront until we found a great secluded spot. On the beach, we found a little handmade hut and even popped some champagne after the sun had set.
For sunrise the next day, we climbed around on the rocks above Emerald Bay as the sun rose over the snow covered mountains. It was like something from a movie! Cheers to seeing more sunrises this year! Haha!
Which one of these Lake Tahoe engagement sessions was your favorite? Sunrise or sunset. Who could decide when you have such incredible views from both.
Stay tuned for our weddings from Valhalla and Tahoe Blue Estates! Also, for Danielle and Jake’s wedding in Jersey City at the Liberty House overlooking lower Manhattan.
