There are so many whimsical places to explore in the mountains of Asheville for an engagement and Catawba Falls waterfall is certainly one of them! We have been to visit the falls several times over the years. This has always been a favorite hike of ours. The trail starts out in a dark flat area covered in pines and you can hear the rumble of the river coming out of the hills. Crossing over a couple of different creeks along the way can be a bit tricky but it just adds to the beauty of the scene. After a mile or so you begin to hear the roar of the falls and you know it’s close!
We spent nearly two hours playing around in the river and falls with Lexi and Greg. It was an amazing escape from the hustle bustle of everyday life. They had traveled down from Long Island, NY so it was a wonderful adventure for them! We can’t wait to see them back in Asheville for their wedding this Fall at the Ridge. Asheville in October is one of the most amazing places to visit in the country. The rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and fall colors are spectacular. Such a perfect time to get married!
