When Elina and Jesse mentioned that we should come to their backyard of Brooklyn, NY for their engagement session, we were instantly in! They wanted their engagement photos taken around Dumbo Brooklyn and overlooking Manhattan and we were so excited! We have shot all over New York City over the years, however this was a first for us. We scoped out Brooklyn Bridge Park the evening before their sunrise session and we knew it was going to be great! With views of the Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, and Manhattan Skyline, it was an epic spot!

Of course we went out the night before and had to indulge in some great Brooklyn style pizza and beers. Elina recommended we check out Sottocasa in the neighborhood where we were staying. Brooklyn Heights. Which by far is our most favorite neighborhood we have stayed in all of the city. The quaint shops and restaurants made for a much less hectic experience that any other part of the city.  Joe also loved all the trees. He’s a super tree nerd and likes to stop and guess how old they are. hahaha  When we travel we typically stay in an Airbnb.  We love the fact that we can feel at home in a location instead of being in a cramped hotel room. We will link our awesome Brooklyn airbnb at the bottom of the post.

After we finished at Brooklyn Bridge Park and Washington Avenue, we went about 20 blocks north to Prospect Park. This is where Elina and Jesse often run and walk their dog. A great park to get a break from the concrete and traffic as well as less crowded than Central Park.

Here is our airbnb we stayed in. We have a few more New York trips this summer as we head to New Jersey and Long Island for a couple more weddings. We can’t wait!
