Abby and Tate had the sweetest backyard wedding in the fall filled with boho inspiration near Charlotte, NC! They said “i do” on Abby’s family property overlooking the pond at sunset. The golden glow through the orange and yellow leaves is one of the most beautiful ceremonies we have captured. Friends and family gathered, with a nip in the air, for this intimate little occasion and as Abby and Tate recited their vows they both cried. So did everyone else including us! It was beautiful to witness. They had a really sweet first look too, where they both teared up. It was easy to see how much they truly love one another.
One of our favorite elements of their wedding was the fall colors! In the south you gamble on the timing of when the trees will change color. And sometimes they do not change at all. So the fact that the trees were bright oranges, yellows, and reds really added this breathtaking touch that all brides hope for when planning their fall weddings. This also played into the florals they choose, sunflowers and wildflowers, were everywhere. Everything just fit perfectly together.
It was a chilly wedding day but Abby wore a long sleeve lace Maggie Sottero dress that not only kept her warm but she looked STUNNING in it! The lace sleeves were delicate and added a little boho vibe. It was a low back and showed off her lovely floral tattoos. She told us before the wedding that her grandma didn’t know she had tattoos. So on the day of the wedding she would see them for the first time!
Abby and Tate included their adorable puppy in the festivities and made her a bandana that said “Dog of Honor”! We get asked frequently if we will photograph our clients with their pets, and it is of course a yes!
One last element of the day that we loved was they wanted to include Abby’s grandfathers vintage Pink Cadillac. We used it in their engagement photographs too so it was awesome that he let them use it again on their wedding day. It was the perfect get away car!
We always love a little boho inspired backyard wedding in the fall and they are becoming more and more popular! We love how intimate they are. Also, how much meaning they hold for our brides and grooms to have their weddings where they will build their lives together. We hope you enjoyed Abby and Tate’s day as much as we did!
