When you receive a wedding inquiry for your birthday weekend you can only hope it’s at an awesome destination. So when we received an email for a Jamaica wedding at Sandals South Coast for mine (Andrea) this year we were pumped! By the end of the trip we were completely immersed in the event and we felt like guests. Rather than just their photographers, documenting their memories and celebrating April and Bryant!
It was a three day event complete with tons of fun festivities. The first day guests arrived at the resort, Sandals South Coast, which is a crazy adventure to get there in itself. Haha! We explored the resort and snapped some photos of the peacocks that roamed the grounds. We grabbed a coffee and headed to the pool to hang out with guests as they arrived sporadically. More and more people arrived and it turned into a little party by the pool. The roars of laughter and music quickly filled the air. We knew then, that it was going to be a weekend to remember! Later in the evening they had a scavenger hunt to get the guests more acquainted and the rehearsal dinner followed.Â
Saturday was the official wedding day! The girls woke up in the morning and had breakfast with mimosas while the boys played soccer. Everyone then began to get ready for the ceremony. As we all expected, a mid day Jamaican rain shower came through and brought everything, but the fun, to a halt for a few hours. The bridesmaids and groomsmen congregated in two separate rooms, with April and Bryant, to drink champagne and tell stories as we waited for the rain to end.Â
The original ceremony time came and went. But we were still able to squeeze in an intimate first look with April and Bryant. The rain droplets slowly ran off the palm trees while they shared hugs, kisses and some tears together.Â
The resort staff quickly cleared debris off of the beach and everyone made their way to their seats. The sun was barely clinging to the blue waters of the horizon as Bryant saw his gorgeous bride walking down the aisle to him. The twilight glow of the setting sun set the stage for Tommy (April and Bryant’s dear friend) to deliver a heartfelt and passionate ceremony that had everyone laughing and crying at the same time. By the time the ceremony was over and they kissed, it was dark! We headed into the reception and everyone danced the night away while their friend and DJ, JK, spun hit after hit that blared through the night! It was a blast! Jamaica, an amazing wedding, and Sandals South Coast, what more could we ask for!Â
